TATCHA Has Introduced a 23-Karat Gold Illuminated Lipstick in A Plum Blossom

I'm so excited, I can barely contain myself! TATCHA has introduced a brand new, limited-edition lipstick: A Plum Blossom ($55). It will be available this season only.

From TATCHA...2016 Limited-Edition Lipstick

What it is
This lipstick brings a youthful, cool plum pink blush to lips with a fine hint of 23-karat gold for a creamy, lustrous finish to flatter any complexion, day or night.

Why it’s different
Inspired by the iconic pink Japanese Plum Blossom peeking through a snowy Kyoto morning wrapped in golden light. Plum fruit and silk extracts richly hydrate lips.

Who it’s for
All skin tones. Non-irritating. Non-sensitizing. Dermatologist tested.

Formulated without
Mineral Oil, Synthetic Fragrances, Sulfate Detergents, Parabens, Pthalates, Urea, DEA, or TEA.

Who is it for? Me! I would guess most of us. Are you as excited as I am?

Just pop over to TATCHA to see the ingredients and order.

I was patiently waiting for February to roll around when A Plum Blossom would become available. I ordered it and I'm expecting this beauty to be mine tomorrow :-) I passed on Tatcha's first foray into the world of lipstick because I thought the color would be too much for me. (At my age, I prefer my reds to be transparent.) It was called Kyoto Red and was a drop dead gorgeous tribute to the iconic classic red worn by the geisha. It was sophisticated perfection on my much younger, raven-haired sister-in-law. Although I didn't purchase it, I did ask to try hers on the off chance that Tatcha would come out with other colors. It had a satin-matte finish, its texture was super creamy, it applied smoothly and evenly, the pigmentation was ultra rich, it treated my lips like a soothing lip balm, and it wore very well. But that was then and this is now and so I hope that A Plum Blossom will live up to my memories of Kyoto Red.

The color looks luscious and suitable for almost all skin tones. Very tempting!

I happened to see the email yesterday while I was at work and hoped I could still order it when I got home because it sounds so beautiful! I also didn't buy Kyoto Red because it's not my shade of red. Plum blossom though sounds like it will fall under the other colors I love mauve/plum/pinks. Even if it doesn't, it sounds like the quality is so excellent that I'll enjoy it regardless.

It was sent to me today, so the minute I have sun, I will swatch and show you. I'm sure it will be beautiful.

Hello! I absolutely cannot wait to see your swatch! I'm so tempted, but I have to see it on someone before I actually check out. I'm also very curious about the Chanel lipsticks... Chanel was my first high-end lipstick back in the day (about 30 years ago), and I still love them.

I'm enjoying reading your posts again, so glad you're back!

Do you have a swatch of this shade, CG? I was viewing this the other day on the Tatcha website and just wanted to be sure the "fairy dust" or "shimmer" isn't over-powering! For some reason, the shimmer irritates me in some lipsticks and is normally very drying. I love the shade but not fond of a lot of shimmer on my lips. I too <3 Chanel lipsticks and this was my first high-end purchase back in the day as well...so long ago and was very proud of my Chanel collection! Still am...can't stand to throw out anything Chanel! HA!

Why is this stupid Captcha making me match to sample? It's my blog!

Thank you, Pamela. I've realized, after this past year mostly offline here, that my blog brings me a lot of sunshine. It's because of my fabulous readers, like you.

Eileen, mine won't arrive before Monday. If you can take a quick swatch of yours in sunshine, I'll post it so the BTiB crowd can get their orders to TATCHA. I suspect it's going to sell out. Thanks!

Liz, I keep all my Chanel. Those pieces are classics.

I'll take a photo as soon as mine arrives, probably Monday. Hope it's sunny!

I doubt you buy drugstore lipsticks, but some shimmery ones have gritty glitter in them, making them terribly uncomfortable. All lipstick, regardless of brand or finish, should feel creamy on our lips. I don't buy many matte lipsticks, not only because they feel dry, but also because they emphasize my thin lips. Shine makes your lips look more plump.

I wouldn't worry for a nanosecond that TATCHA put out a gritty lipstick. They are way too classy for that.

Will you be swatching the Tatcha Sunrise lipstick soon? It sounds delightful, but at $55, I would like to ensure that it isn't too warm for me, since cooler colors suit me best.

See TATCHA on Facebook. Half of their stock on this lip color has been purchased already!

You are right, CG...I don't do drugstore lipsticks. The gritty ones that I have tried were YSL (strangely enough) and they just turned me off! I agree that matte lipsticks make our lips appear thinner and at this stage of life, I want some things to appear thinner but not my lips! ;-)
Looking forward to the swatch and I believe this lipstick is waiting for me to make that purchase. Thanks so much, CG! Hope your day is good.
